Who are the survivors of abortion?
According to the dictionary, a survivor is a person who 'survives, lives after, the death of another, who continues in existence after an (adversity), one who endures.' Every year in Australia, over 90,000 babies are aborted, for reasons that are as varied as the circumstances. But abortion solves no problems, because for every baby who is aborted, there are survivors, who must continue to live with the knowledge of what has occurred. Parents of the aborted child are always survivors. However, the list does not stop there. Grandparents, siblings, existing or later-born children, friends and other relatives, all are survivors. Some may have encouraged the abortion; others have become involved involuntarily. Also included are medical personnel and counsellors, including ministers, who may have recommended or encouraged the abortion. Lastly, the list must make room for those actually involved in the abortion, the doctors and nurses. In other words, for every child who is aborted, there are at least another 9 people who will be affected in some way. For many of these people the effect is disastrous. Are you a survivor? If you know you are a survivor, because you identify with what has been said here, or simply because thoughts of the abortion are painful, then please contact us. We would like to help you find the forgiveness, the peace, and the healing that is possible. Abortion does damage lives, but we can testify that there is HOPE and we would like to share with you the reason for that hope. Follow this link to the There is Hope page. |
